"If you're looking to have your rod bent by huge rainbows, you've come to the right place."

Large rainbow trout are the hallmark and focus of Enchanted Lake Lodge. Every day offers the chance to put the fish of a lifetime into the net. That said, arctic char, Dolly Varden, and grayling are regularly caught, and all five species of Pacific Salmon are available at various times during the season. The lodge is strategically-located just minutes away from the rivers we fish, so unlike many other fly-out lodges, flight times are kept to a minimum. To put it another way, we are casting when others are still up in the air.

Every evening, you’ll be assigned a river and a guide, who will provide an overview of the next day’s fishing, what gear to take, and the time of your fly-out. After being awakened in the morning by a polite knock on your door (and a fresh pot of coffee), a hearty breakfast awaits to fuel the day’s journey.

A four month window from June through September provides ample opportunities for a wide a wide variety of angling and techniques, including early and late season streamers, dry flies, nymphs, mouse flies and egg patterns.

Our permit on the Lower American provides some of the best angling in Alaska. After a short flight from the lodge, you’ll head upriver in one of our jet boats and sight fish from the boat or explore channels on foot. Very large rainbows are the prize here, along with sizable artic char. This river will be a highlight of your trip.

Fly fishing in Alaska requires gear that’s up to the task, both from an angling perspective as well as the fickle nature of the weather. While many guests bring their own equipment, we do offer high-end waders, wading boots, wading staffs, rods and reels at no cost. Flies, beads, leaders and all licenses are included in the cost of your trip.
